Installation Guide

Windows Installation

  1. Close After Effects if running
  2. Download and extract the Plexus ZIP file
  3. Copy Plexus64.aex to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects [version]\Support Files\Plug-ins\
  4. Launch After Effects
  5. Find Plexus in Effects → Rowbyte → Plexus

macOS Installation

  1. Close After Effects if running
  2. Press Shift+Command+G in Finder
  3. Navigate to /Library (system library, not user library)
  4. Copy Plexus.plugin to /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/plugins/7.0/Mediacore/Rowbyte/Plexus/
  5. Create folders if they don't exist
  6. Launch After Effects
  7. Find Plexus in Effects → Rowbyte → Plexus

Troubleshooting

  • Red X on M1 Macs: Ensure files are in /Library (system), not ~/Library (user)
  • Plugin not appearing: Verify correct Plug-ins folder location
  • Expression errors: Do not use Chinese version of AE
  • Registration issues: Verify serial number and internet connection
